My Adorable Linc

Look at my sweet little boys angel face. He's so much fun to play with at this stage always so smiley and happy...

until the temper tantrum starts that is... and then we get this cute little precious face!

Who called it terrible twos? My kids seem to get it around 17 months... of course they are perfect again by 18 months!

I want SLEEP!!!

I have come to the conclusion that I need 10 hours of sleep minimum a night! I need it like we need 8 glasses of water a day. Some may say I'm lazy, some may say I'm crazy, but I honestly need that more than I need food or socialization! The truth is, my kids love to interupt my sleep.
Other then last Saturday night when Eric whisked me away for my birthday, I can't remember the last time they let me sleep. I know all you new moms out there, don't feel sorry for me at all, but trust me. A newborn has a sweet face that is easy to get up to, a 4 and 6 year olds can wait until morning!!! Okay, okay... enough complaining... remember my earlier post about how thrilled and thankful I was to have 3 healthy kids... well I am. I just know they would be more thankful if they would let me sleep!

Happy Birthday Mimi

y mom and I were born on the same day so I can't forget to wish her a happy birthday too. She turned 35 on Saturday. Maddox took this picture of us on Sunday night while we celebrated our birthdays. Unfortunatly Maverick was sick so we didn't get to see Uncle Josh, Aunt Heather, and Maverick, but we will soon!
Happy Birthday Mimi!

My 29th Birthday!

Saturday was my 29th birthday and my wonderful, amazing, adorable husband planned a weekend just for me! He talked his brother into keeping our 3 kiddo's for the night while we spent some time away. (Thanks Chris and Jen!)

We started off at the Fork and Screen at the AMC Theater. We ate a yummy lunch and watched a great movie at the same time. After the movie Eric took me to shop and buy whatever I wanted! Can you believe with an open invitation I couldn't find anything I wanted!!! Eric however walked away with 4 new shirts!

We then went to check in to our "home" for the night. We went to the Plaza to stay at the Sheraton Suites. We had an amazing room, a great view of the Plaza, and enjoyed some time out and about on the streets.

Here's my bedroom for the night

And here's Eric's (haha)

Swim Lessons

This time of year always calls for a round or two of swim lessons. We know the busy months are coming so we try to get the lessons in while we have some down time. The kids started this last weekend and had a lot of fun.

Maddox seems to be the youngest in his class. He's the littlest one in the red shorts. He has a huge fear of water in his ears (since he has tubes) so it should be an interesting season.

Maci in her class- she has turned into a little fish and it's fun watching them get comfortable in the water.

Lincoln trying to figure out how to get into the water... and Eric enjoying a few minutes of not chasing Lincoln around. One day in the future I will be able to sit in the lounge chair like this lady and just watch and enjoy!

Linc's favorite toy

Why is it that we buy and buy kids toys but their favorite toys are always the ones we don't intend for them to play with? I looked all over for Linc the other day when I found him in the fridge. He loves to get in, sit on the tray, and close the door (it won't close all the way thank goodness!). Here he is during one of his "cooling down" sessions.

Maddox

Maddox is at the fun age that his brain is developing rapidly and he's learning so much that he just can't keep it straight. It's so funny to hear him with the stuff he comes up with. Here are a few things from this week that have gave us a chuckle.

“Look at my lips, they’re trying to say something”

I was asking Maddox a question the other day when he responded with “What’s that fool?” After I told him that wasn’t very nice and I didn’t want to hear him say it again he said… “I know mommy, you don’t say it with a mean face, you only say it when your smiling.”

He has stories every day about what he and his brother Jack have been doing. I think he really thinks he has a brother Jack.

At Walmart he was taking to the clerk who was checking us out and she wouldn’t talk to him, so he said “Hey, I want to tell you something.” She looked at him and gave him a dirty look and rolled her eyes. He started laughing and said “Mommy, did you see that silly face she just made.”
He loves to spell words like Maci does when we are going over her spelling words. His favorite word to spell is inside… he spells it a,b,c,11,12,13 and on and on.

He came downstairs before bed and asked for a drink. Eric said “that’s fine, just make sure you go the bathroom before you go to bed” he started laughing and said “no dad, just a drink!”

Love is in the Air

Valentines day is coming and I couldn't wait to go out with my Valentine! I set it all up early and was so excited to have a babysitter come over for a couple hours while Eric and I had the evening to ourselves. A nice quite dinner! We planned for Friday night knowing that Sat. would be chaos.
But wouldn't you know it... Lincoln woke up with other plans. A 102 degree fever and trouble breathing. After trying to find a way to make him look healthy (ha) I called off the dinner, and resigned to the fact of staying home with my sick baby.

It's nice when you figure out how they like their breathing treatments. Lincoln HATES the mask and it was always holding him down while he screamed at the top of his lungs. Little did I know, if I would give him the adult mouth piece, he would hold it himself and take the whole treatment.

The day did get better as Camden and Trenton got here and gave me my valentine frm Cold Stone Creamery.
Have you seen, or more importantly tasted these yummy cupcakes? They are 100% pure ice cream, and sooo yummy!!!

Around noon of V-day and starting to feel sorry for myself, Eric wanted me to go get some meat out of the freezer for dinner. Boy was I mad... not only nothing for Valentines day, but then he actually thought I was going to cook dinner!?!? To make a point I went to get the meat when I found the above.... 12 pieces of super yummy Cheesecake Factory Cheesecake!! MY FAVORITE. What a sneaky guy!

And he did take me out to dinner. It has to be fast since we had the kids in tow, and Lincoln still wasn't feeling 100%. So we chose McAlisters. It is one of my favorite places! Everyone enjoyed a wonderful meal and we went home to spend the evening together, and all in love- hehe!

School Valentine Party

I let Maci choose what she wanted to make for her Valentine Party at school and she chose cupcake Ice cream cones. I thought it would be fun so I got the stuff and we began. What I forgot about was the transporting delimma. Everytime I make these, that thought never seems to come to mind until I get to that point.

Maci not to thrilled that her brother gets to help. I went a little crazy on the icing- I used 2 tubs of icing for 20 cupcakes.

Maci adding the rest of the sprinkles and her little hearts

The finished product, inthe pan with clean towels wrapped around them hoping to make it to school without disaster

We made it, and had a great party to go with it. These kids had PLENTY of treats! Oh how you forget the fun holiday parties in school!

Big hair

You know us and wigs. We love them. The kids found this one in Mimi's stash and Linc ended up with it on. I thought he looked to cute with his binky and big hair so I couldn't resist.

Loving my kiddo's

Lately I've been reading a lot of sad blogs. A lot of kids and families going thru some rough stuff, that I can't even comprehend. A 10 month old that passes away with cancer, only 2 weeks after discovering it. A 3 year old that passes away waiting for a heart transplant. Twins fighting for their lives after being born at 25 weeks gestation. My best friends newborn having to undergo a complete heart reconstruction surgery after finding a heart defect after his birth. The list goes on and on. And they are all people I know personally or friends of a friend. I've realized I've taken my healthy kids for granted. I look at them in awe right now knowing how God has saved me from this grief and truelly blessed me with amazing children. My uncle , who is in the medical field, once had to witness an autopsy on a newborn. He said it was the saddest thing- the liver was where the heart is supposed to be, the heart where the bladder, and so on. Everything was just in the wrong spot. He asked the person doing the autopsy how a baby could have his parts so mixed up like that. The dr told him, the miracle is when a baby is healthy and all the parts are where they should be. I truelly believe that and I will be saying a lot more "thank you" prayers from now on. How could someone ever believe that there isn't a higher being creating us?

lookin' good

Maddox got the v motion game from his uncle Darrin for his birthday and the kids couldn't wait to pull it out. If you don't know it's like the wii for little ones. They had so much fun and played it for hours, as you can see, Eric enjoyed it too! Tennis anyone?

Maddox opened his gifts from us which included his KU jersey and spiderman safety gear. We didn't really intend him to have to wear it while playing his vmotion but he insisted.

I guess the skates were on too- so I'm so glad he was being safe! We wouldn't want any head injuries!

Rice Krispy Treats Talent

One of our good friends has quite the talent. We've had them over for dinner and he's brought the most creative rice krispy treats. But he's really started making unique ones. He recently sent me these pictures of some of his recent creations. He has decided to start making them for people- so if you are ever in need of a unique treat, gift, or something other then birthday cake, let me know and I can help you get ahold of him. I'm thinking Eric may be getting a dozen rice krispy treat roses for V-day! They've always been his favorite!!!

Maddox's Friend Party

Maddox has been dreaming about having his birthday at Chuck E. Cheese ever since he went to his cousins there last June. He has told everyone for the last several months that he is having his birthday at Chuck E. Cheese. So how could we let him down? We decided to invite his friends along and enjoy the morning with pizza and games.

I'm so glad that my kids have such great friends. I have my life long friends and it's fun to see them making there's now.

Maddox's Family Party

We had Maddox's birthday party with our families on Sunday afternoon. Maddox was surprised when he woke up and we told him we were going to have another party. He loved that his birthday went on and on.

Me and my birthday boy!We don't know how to have a party without food

present time- Maverick is there to help
Uncle Josh and Aunt Heather and Maverick got him a fun costume. This is how we've seen him dressed since opening it.

Lincoln loved the box of trash.

No better time for family photo's- above is my family, below is Eric's

We had a great birthday party and Maddox got a ton of great gifts. It is always fun to get together with the whole family.
