Good Daddy

My kids are very lucky to have such a good, hands on dad. Eric comes home every night and spends the evening with the kids. If it's reading with Maci, wrestling with Maddox, or marching with Lincoln, it's all kids, all evening! As I was cleaning up the kitchen after dinner I looked over to see this. I didn't realize he could do it all at once.

He's Walking

He officially took his first steps about a week before his 1st birthday- but he's been a little lazy about "taking off!" The last couple of days he's finally started letting go of stuff and walking. Last night I was able to get some shots.

Morning Ritual

Mondays are such hard days for Maddox. He hates when his daddy has to go back to work. He has started this morning ritual when Maci started back to school. Every day he has to go outside to watch his daddy drive off to work. Even as the mornings are getting chillier, he continues to sit outside and watch him go. Even in the rain this morning he sat out front to say good bye!

Happy Birthday Uncle Travis

My oldest brother is another year older. We celebrated his birthday at Mimi and Papa's on Sunday night.

These 4 kids are impossible to get to pose together but I was going to get some type of picture of them with Uncle Wampus (as the kids call him)

Maddox and his Pedometer

At the Light the Night walk they had a ton of give aways. One of which was a pedometer. Maddox instantly fell in love with his. Him and Camden ran in circles when they first put them on to see how fast they could get the numbers to go up. Needless to say- it hasn't been off of him sense. He wore it home, put it on after his shower and wore it on his underware to bed (guess he thought he might walk in his sleep) put it on his church clothes and wore it to church and still hasn't taken it off. He is so proud of his "clock" as he calls it.

Charlize's Birthday

A little girl I used to babysit turned 5 this weekend. Maci and her were such good friends and they loved getting to see each other again!

Light the Night Walk

The night has finally come and we couldn't of asked for a more beautiful evening. It was wonderful weather and a ton of fun!

The survivors that attended the walk- it broke my hear to see the young kids in the blue shirts. Not that it's any better the older you are, but I can't imagine going through it with a 4 or 5 year old.

The Walk Begins

Our team- we are missing Eric's brother and his wife and 3 kids- but the rest of the team is here. What a great group we had!

Wellsville Days

My old hometown has a parade/ party (hard to call it a carnival) every year in September. I missed going for several years, but decided to head back last year to see some old friends. I had so much fun visiting the old town that I decided we need to go to the parade each year. This past Saturday was the big day so we took off to enjoy the activities.

Out of all my friends I was hoping to see we stand with my lifelong friend Kyle- funny thing is, he lives in the same town we do now so I see him often. Oh well- it was still good to see Kyle and his family!

We made it

Sickness is never fun, but 2 kids at one time with the stomach yuckies is HORRIBLE! Maci woke up one day saying she had a headache. I gave her tylenol and sent her to school. An hour later Maddox was wanting medicine cause his head hurt too. My kids love medicine so I figured it was just him learning from Maci how to get the meds. Sure enough he wasn't lying- 10 min. later he showed me his stomach was upset too. After cleaning him up and getting him cozy on the couch, the phone call came- Maci had showed her classroom all over her desk that she had a tummy ache too. I don't know who I felt more sorry for- her or her teacher and class for having to smell that "cleaner" smell all day!

Babcock Family Reunion

We got to go to Eric's families family reunion on Saturday. It's always fun to see his mom's wild and crazy aunts and cousins. You always leave with a good chuckle. The kids even had a good time with all the other kids that are their age.

Happy Birthday Uncle Chris

Eric's brother Chris turns another year older this week so we decided to celebrate with him a little early. Eric's parents made a wonderful dinner and we always love spending time with everyone.

KU Band Day

Some traditions are hard to break- and a parade is definetly one of them. Our kids LOVE parades and we all LOVE the KU Band- so we couldn't miss band day this year, especially with such a beautiful day! Eric was working with the kids all week on their marching technique. He would play his Crimson and Blue music and Maci would lead the parade twirling her pencil. Maddox would follow marching with his "air" trumpet, and Lincoln would be in Eric's arms leading the way conducting it all. I wish I would of had it on video. They practiced every night so there's no reason I didn't. But the day finally came and the kids were so excited.

We were lucky and found Camden and Trenton who had front row seats and set up we could get used to. We are finding them for every parade from now on. Much better then sitting behind the crowd.

Gotta get the Anderson County photo. My brother is the athletic director/ assistant principal and coaches at ACHS so we had to get a picture of them in the parade. I was hoping to see Josh walking with them, but he must not of made the trip.

Helping the Earth

We figured with Maci being in school, and all the paper that she uses that it's time for us to give back to Mother Earth. So we decided to plant a tree. OK, OK, so the truth is Maci got a tree at school and couldn't wait to plant it. She could hardly wait for daddy to get home to help (that falls under the "daddy's duty" list in case you were wondering.
