As stated in a previous post- I have formed a team that is going to walk to raise money for the Leukemia Society. It is called "Light the Night" and takes place in Lawrence on Sept. 27. It's a huge family event and looks like a lot of fun. (If interested in more information, or would like to walk, let me know- I would be glad to hook you up, or even have you on our team!)
This past weekend to help raise money for the walk we decided to have a garage sale. We had a donations garage sale and what a success it was! Several of our family and friends donated items they no longer wanted. Boy did you all donate! Let's just say we couldn't fit it all into my bro-in-law and sis-in-laws garage! Thursday night Eric and I, Josh (my bro) and Heather (sis-in-law and Chris (Eric's bro) and Jen (sis-in-law) went around picking up the goodies from everyone and started the set up process. Friday Jen and I ran the garage sale with my dad and mom. Saturday Heather joined us for the fun, and the kids opened a bake sale.

Saturday afternoon- the 3 cooked ladies of the day.

The first morning of the sale. It was rediculous how much stuff we had. We had 3 kids slides, 2 train tables, 2 kids desks, storage shelves, bunk beds, couches, tables, lamps, and of course clothes and decorative fun. There was A TON of stuff!

The kids (along with some neighbors) had a blast with the lemonade stand. We each made several dozen cookies and Jen provided the kool-aid. I think everyone that came bought some cookies and lemonade. Or atleast donated money to the cause.
So the grand total???? We were hoping for $50! We made well over $750.00! We also had 2 ladies join our team. The kids made $70 at their bake sale. It was a lot of fun, and well worth the time and effort.
Thanks again for all of you amazing people that donated to our cause!
