Jog a Thon Fund Raiser

Each Year Nottingham Elementary has a fund raiser -a jog-a-thon. We decided to go watch the big even yesterday.
Maci in the middle with pink shorts and blue shirt- getting ready to take off
The chearing section- Maddox, Mimi Adams Trenton, Linc and Papa Adams
Linc with his big gulp
Trenton and Linc- "On your mark..." their ready to go!
The jog a thon- Papa and Mad-dog decided to run with her- they are right in front of the big red cardinal
Maddox recovering from his laps. It was a hot day
Maci afterwards- all red and sweaty. I'd love to be in that tiny room when they all went back to class.

It's Good to have buddies around

Lincoln is lucky enough to always have an extra step stool around

or an extra chair when he just wants to play

okay, okay, before everyone thinks I'm horrible there was no one hurt in these photo's. Trenton was actually laughing as Linc was climbing on him. Believe me, as Trenton is getting bigger he is starting to hold his own. He takes care of Maddox when he's on top too! These two are so much fun to watch together.

Brynn Deterding is here!

When my friends have babies it's as if I've had another one. The excitement I feel for them is almost the same as when we add to our own family! Today Kyle and Sara delivered their baby girl Brynn Marie. I can't wait to watch this little angel grow! Congrats you two!

Oceans of Fun

Ok, OK... I'm a bad mom. I forgot my camera at home when we went to enjoy the day at Oceans of Fun. Eric's parents bought tickets for all of us and offered to keep Lincoln for the day while we enjoyed a day at the "fun ocean" as Maddox calls it. I didn't find my camera until the next day- but we had a blast. I wish I could of captured the excitement in Maddox's eyes, or the thrill seeker my baby girl is. But memories will have to do!

We were rushing around for church on Sunday and the kids weren't coming- we went to find them and they were passed out on the steps from the excitement of the day before.

Linc passed out- thanks to Grandma and Grandpa. I told them they will be watching him more often. Even though they say he slept all day while they had him, he slept 13 hours that night. He was a tired baby!

Thanks grandma and grandpa for the fun day. I wish you could of seen the fun and excitement we all had! Your the best!

Leukemia Fundraiser Garage Sale

As stated in a previous post- I have formed a team that is going to walk to raise money for the Leukemia Society. It is called "Light the Night" and takes place in Lawrence on Sept. 27. It's a huge family event and looks like a lot of fun. (If interested in more information, or would like to walk, let me know- I would be glad to hook you up, or even have you on our team!)

This past weekend to help raise money for the walk we decided to have a garage sale. We had a donations garage sale and what a success it was! Several of our family and friends donated items they no longer wanted. Boy did you all donate! Let's just say we couldn't fit it all into my bro-in-law and sis-in-laws garage! Thursday night Eric and I, Josh (my bro) and Heather (sis-in-law and Chris (Eric's bro) and Jen (sis-in-law) went around picking up the goodies from everyone and started the set up process. Friday Jen and I ran the garage sale with my dad and mom. Saturday Heather joined us for the fun, and the kids opened a bake sale.

Saturday afternoon- the 3 cooked ladies of the day.

The first morning of the sale. It was rediculous how much stuff we had. We had 3 kids slides, 2 train tables, 2 kids desks, storage shelves, bunk beds, couches, tables, lamps, and of course clothes and decorative fun. There was A TON of stuff!

The kids (along with some neighbors) had a blast with the lemonade stand. We each made several dozen cookies and Jen provided the kool-aid. I think everyone that came bought some cookies and lemonade. Or atleast donated money to the cause.

So the grand total???? We were hoping for $50! We made well over $750.00! We also had 2 ladies join our team. The kids made $70 at their bake sale. It was a lot of fun, and well worth the time and effort.

Thanks again for all of you amazing people that donated to our cause!

Roller Coaster Time

As we drive to Lawrence it's became a ritual to raise our hands as you go over the big hills. Those of you that haven't been around this area much won't know--- but there are 2 hills on the way to Lawrence that get your belly every time. I remember growing up and it almost making me sick going over them. I completely forgot about that fun "childhood memory" until I saw my kids teaching Lincoln a new game.

He loves to raise his arms for the ride like the other 2 now! Only he seems to forget to put them down when you get to the bottom of the hill.

1st day of 1st Grade

Maci had her first half day of school today. She was so excited to get back and see her friends. She's in a whole new class this year with all new kids. I'm thrilled she loves school so much.

The annual pose on the stairs before we leave for school- notice she has her chest pumped up with pride! She did that in every picture I took! Mimi Adams took Maci school clothes shopping and let her pick out whatever she wanted. Maci loved this dress and just had to have it to wear for the first day of school. Thanks Mimi!

Maci and Julia (our neighbor) These two have become great friends, so we had to get a picture of them on their first day like we did last year. Unfortunatly they aren't in the same class this year, but recess will be fun!

Update on Day 2: Okay- I'm going to be completely honest. I'm not enjoying my day so much for day #2- the first full day of school. I miss my little girl! I didn't think you did this in year 2 of school! Okay, okay- I'm going to try my best to be productive today and not think of my little angel girl! I hope your having fun Maci!

Brandon's Birthday # 8

After spending the day with My family on Saturday, Sunday we got to spend the day with Eric's family. Brandon had a big birthday so we were excited to go celebrate.

The grandparents wanted to take the kids with them (guess we're not good company-ha). The kids love to ride in their car because they have earphones to listen too. Why haven't we bought a vehicle with that- looks like a much quiter drive!

Time for presents

Off to the yummy cake and ice cream

Enjoying some conversation with Great Grandma during dinner

Off to Aunt Carol's for the big party

As many of you know, my mom is one of 13 children. A big family! I have 43 first cousins on this side alone. As you can imagine, we don't get together nearly as often as we would like. It is hard to get everyone together, especially as the family's have grown. I have been thrilled to get to see several of my cousins at a couple different events this year. At this one I got to see all but 1 uncle and 1 aunt. My aunt happened to be in town, but we missed her while she was hanging out at the hotel. Unfortunatly it was a rainy day (complete down pour) so everyone was in my Aunt Carol's house. That poor house was run thru with dirty socks, wet kids, and food every where! Carol was expecting 97 of the 143 blood relatives my grandma has. What a great turn out! Thanks Aunt Carol for the great food, and for hosting such a fun get together!

Some of the cousins enjoying a little socializing

The aunts and uncles enjoying time together as well

Visit with Grandma

I haven't been a very good person lately. I haven't made the time to go see my grandma nearly enough in the last couple years. My grandma Adams lives in Humboldt in an assisted living home. It's just not like going to visit them in their own home. However, this past weekend my parents, my brothers family, and our family decided to take a trip to see her.

My grandma gave Maci this bear- so we wanted to get a picture of the 3 of them (the bear, Maci, and grandma) but somehow Uncle Josh forced himself into the picture.

Trying to get a picture of the kids and grandma just wasn't going to happen this time. As you can see, no one wanted to sit still and smile at the camera- other then Maci and grandma! Maverick got distracted, Maddox wasn't about to get a picture taken, and Linc was just ready to go play!

11 months

I got the last one out a little late, and this one is a day early- but my baby is growing fast.

Eric turns another year older!

My young 17 year old stud of a boy that I started dating years ago, has now turned into a hunky 32 year old man! Another year older and just that much wiser and better looking!
Yesterday was Eric's birthday and we were able to celebrate with his whole family. His parents grilled some wonderful steaks and chicken with all the fixings. We ate until we were sick. However it didn't stop me from finishing off his ice cream cake they got for him at work, when we got home.

It seemed to be a KU themed night with all the KU gifts he got. Eric's easy to buy for- if it has KU on it then it's golden.

The kids helping him open his gifts

The family all watching the fun

Hannah Montana even attended the bash

Boys are different then girls

I remember my sister-in-law always saying "boys are different then girls". Like us, their oldest is a girl followed by 2 boys. When their 2nd child was little I remember that phrase coming from her a lot. I never knew just how true that was until Lincoln came along. Maddox wasn't a typical boy at Lincolns age. He was so laid back he never moved. He would literally sit on your lap and just hang out. He had no desire to explore, crawl around, or investigate anything. Not until he got a little older did he finally decide that he wanted to be the clown of the family. However, Linc is the typical boy my sister in law was talking about. He is into everything, climbing on anything, and quite the little handful. ALWAYS on the move! Don't get me wrong- he's a doll baby and as perfect as can be, but he is always into something!

Trying to figure out how to play Candyland

Maci was sitting on the island making her lunch, and I guess Lincolnd decided to try to get up there with her
